Course credits
Accreditation
Tilsley Academy will be quality assured by Tilsley College. The College is run by a well-educated and experienced faculty all of whom are educated to Masters and/or Doctoral levels in Theology. The College already meets all the accreditation standards of British Accreditation Council (BAC) and European Council for Theological Education (ECTE) for their main programmes. While the courses offered in Tilsley Academy are not accredited directly by any external agency, Tilsley College will endeavour to uphold and maintain the highest quality for all the courses being offered.
Course credits therefore are offered by Tilsley College as an independent college in the form of Tilsley Academy Badges.
A Deca Course Badge will be worth 10 points
A Duo Course Badge will be worth 2 points.
Teaching and Learning Approaches (Androgogy)
Tilsley Academy is a collective for the extension ministries of Tilsley College run in collaboration with other agencies needing and or providing training for Christian men and women. Access to the Academy will be granted to people of 17 years of age or over.
Each Duo course can be completed as a self-paced online course of learning taking approximately 2 hours. No tutoring is provided as course materials are self-standing. On completion of this course you will receive a completion badge and you will be awarded 2 points toward your Tilsley Academy student status. After registering for a Duo course you will have 30 days in which to complete it.
Each Deca course can be completed as a self-paced online course of learning taking approximately 10 hours. Very little tutoring is provided as course materials are largely self-standing. Where tutoring is built in to the course it will be limited to feedback on assignments or tests. On completion of this course you will receive a completion badge and you will be awarded 10 points toward your Tilsley Academy student status. After registering for a Deca course you will have 90 days in which to complete it.
Tilsley Academy Badges
Badges and the corresponding points can be accumulated towards the following ‘qualifications’:
Student of Tilsley Academy (STA) (assigned to all members once registered)
Associate of Tilsley Academy (ATA) (30 points acquired within first 3 years; then maintain 30 points every 3 years)
Senior Associate of Tilsley Academy (SATA) (Tutors and Course writers of the Academy - normally a conferred status rather than earned)
Associate status in Tilsley Academy is a dynamic award. It is something you are required to maintain as 'a lifelong learner'. Should, an Associate of Tilsley Academy not complete at least 30 course points in 3 years, they will revert to Student status.
Such awards and the conferred status would be considered appropriate for entry on personal statements and CVs.
A Directory of Students, Associates and Senior Associates will be maintained on the Tilsley Academy platform.
